Overview

Congratulations on your decision to return to school. The following steps will take the mystery out of the enrollment and funding process. Do not hesitate to talk to teachers or counsellors if you have questions or concerns during your education journey.

Old Sun Community College has an open door policy for mature students returning to school. During your first contact or appointment with Old Sun, you will meet with a career and/or financial counsellor or the registrar to discuss your education and/or job training hopes and plans. They may ask you to do an evaluation or take a test to determine the program that works best for you at this time. All information gathered throughout the admissions and funding process are strictly confidential.

Step 1: Determine Eligibility

To qualify for enrollment or assistance with securing funding prospective students must be:

  • 18 years or older
  • Out of regular school system for 12 consecutive months prior to the school/training start date
  • Have a need for training/educations to obtain and maintain employment?
